Here’s what the editing process looks like in Audacity, the FOSS tool I use. You can see the many tracks are all “rolled up” to view more of them, and also you can see (if you view the full size version) that the track names include a number. I do this so that I can use Audacity’s “Sort Tracks by Name” function (Tracks > Sort > by Name) to organize the tracks. The roll-up function lets you shrink tracks so you can get them out of the way once you’re finished with them.

I’ll be posting some further technical tips in the future, because I’ve learned so much about recording, editing and posting a podcast in the last few months. I’ve obviously got more to learn, but I’ll post things I learn as I go. How about that?
