The name of this podcast comes from a nickname my wife Cassie and I have for our dog, Gordon. He is beautiful and funny, but a real meanie when it comes to being affectionate. He will curl up on our bed, but if you approach him he will make a run for it. He will lie on the floor, but if you start to crouch down he will dodge under the coffee table. Sometimes he will give up the belly for scratches, but it’s always on his terms.

Sometimes we attempt to bring him onto the bed for cuddles on a weekend morning, but he is having none of it. He will stay still, and put up with it, until we let our guard down and let go, upon which he will leap away and escape. He’s like a Coiled Spring, waiting for us to release him.
